Welcome to Special Education

The Auburn Union School District is dedicated to providing the structure and support necessary to ensure that every student receives the highest education to become a happy, healthy, and productive member of society.  As a team, the role of the district support staff is to provide a comprehensive support system to meet the academic, behavioral, physical, and psychological needs of the whole child, thereby enhancing the Auburn education community.
 
The Auburn Union School District provides Resource Specialist Program (RSP) services at all schools. The Resource Specialist program provides specialized instruction and supports to students focused on their IEP goals, for less than 50% of the school day. The Resource Specialist is a credentialed special education teacher.
 
Special Day Class services are provided at every school site, and serve students who require specialized instruction and supports. The Special Day Class teacher holds a special education credential.
