Fitness Testing
The State of California requires annual testing in Physical Education for all 5th and 7th graders. The testing areas are: Aerobic Capacity, Strength & Endurance, Flexibility, Abdominal & Trunk Strength, and Body Composition (height and weight). Height and weight is now required and is used to calculate Aerobic Capacity VO2max. The testing window is March thru May 2012.
After School Pick-ups
Please remember to pick up students after school here on our campus. We do not have supervision available at locations off campus. We want to be good neighbors! If you wait only 10 minutes after school there is not a line at all. Thanks!
Check Grades Online
Don’t forget you can monitor grades online! Go to our school web page and click on “GRADES” on the left side of the page. If you need to know your student’s ID number call the office at 823-6106 and the secretaries will be happy to help you!

School ID Cards
All students received a student ID card on picture day or their first day of school if they are transfer students. The first ID card is free; replacement ID cards cost $3.00. The I.D cards are required for the lunch line – (students not in possession of an ID card will be asked to wait until the end of the line if dining inside). The ID card is also required for dance and after school sports admission, ball check out during lunch and more. Please do not cut/punch, doodle or put stickers on your school ID card. (These types of things cause the card to not scan and slows down the line in the cafeteria.) Students who deface their ID card may have it confiscated and may have to purchase a new ID card. Thanks!
School Attendance
It is important to talk about student attendance. When students miss a part or all of a school day they miss out on important instruction and learning. While assignments can be made up, a student who is not present in class misses out on material that is presented orally or visually as well as the interactions between the teacher and the other students. If a student is genuinely ill or you have a serious family emergency then the student needs to stay home. Otherwise students need to attend as much of the full school day as possible so they don’t miss out.
Attendance is important for another reason too. The funding the school district receives from the state is based on the number of students in school each day (average daily attendance. Whenever students are absent (for any reason, including illness) the district does not receive funding. This is the funding that pays for teachers and programs here at school. So please, whenever possible send your child to school.
We aren’t asking you to send your child to school if (s)he is ill. However, we are asking to keep this information in mind when making the decision to attend school or not.
Thank you for your support!
